French trip to The Model Theatre Sligo

Yesterday our two Leaving Cert French classes and our LCA 1 French class had the wonderful opportunity to attend a special screening of the French film Les Trois Fantastiques in The Model Theatre in Sligo. The trip was not only a fun day out but also an invaluable educational experience.

Watching the movie in its original French, gave us the opportunity to hear authentic pronunciation and conversational French, as well as the chance to see the French landscape and scenery. The film’s storyline provided plenty thought-provoking moments as we lived through the dramatic scenes with Tommie, Max and Vivian.

Following the trip, we will use the study guide to analyse the film in class. This guide will allow us to break down key scenes, improve our vocabulary, and gain deeper insights into the language and themes of the film. The trip provided a fun and engaging way to enhance our language skills, making it an unforgettable part of our Leaving Cert French journey. This experience has been an invaluable way to connect classroom learning with real-world language use.

Thank you to Ms. Finan and Ms. Farrell for organising it and as always, a big Thank You to O’ Hara coaches who took us safely door to door.
